Well, my emotional life is at the very centre of my experience of the world, so it is kind of hard to ignore. Maybe it is self-centred to care about my emotions, but I have also learned that I’m a much better husband, father, and coworker w

I’ve put both my kids in preschool from about the time they turned one. I can teach my kids a lot in my own, but what I can’t give them is plenty of training interacting with other kids. They might not be able to read when they are four thi

I’ve a hard time to believe that Donald Trump worked hard a single day of his life, and by most standards he was extraordinarily successful.

Imagine if the nice perfectly planned solution would have gotten the build time down to 5 seconds and been done next month, but it now never would be implemented because 1 minute was considered good enough.

Of course it has. Just because it isn't directly based in a physiological reaction doesn't make it less real. And it is in general a mistake to make a clear distinction between what is mind and what is matter. They are the same.

You assume that it is easy to predict exactly what effect some genes from some bacteria would have is, say, spinach. It is rarely so. In traditional breeding, you know what you start with, and crossing two variants from the same species nev

The question was about what kind of testing that can be done on GMOs that can't be done on other types of organisms. The commenter that I was hoping to answer me claimed that it is harder to test traditionally bred organisms than GMO

Those are not the only alternatives available. There are farming practices that give good yield, use none or a minimum of pesticides and herbicides, and don't use any GMOs.
