> Does anyone know how far off we are having logical AI? Your comment made me think of something. How do we know that logic AI is relevant? I mean, how do we know that humans are logic-AI driven and not statistical-intelligent?

Moronic. At some point, there will be an emergency, and people will want their VOIP traffic or texting traffic given a higher priority. By the way, this isn’t theoretical - it happened in the Texas ice storm last year. Under these rules,

It’s already there in some respects. This week on the Odd Lots podcast [0] there was an excellent interview with the founder of Duolingo who talks about how they use AI to personalize the learning for each user. But even before that, we ha

I highly, highly , highly recommend you read about the 2002 Millennium Challenge - essentially a war game exercise (and a huge one at that). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millennium_Challenge_2002

In my view, robots just entered the uncanny valley with this announcement and became super creepy. I think designers would be wise to make them more cartoonish than human because it gets worse for awhile before we are out of the valley.

Thanks for that. This is exactly what I meant - it’s extraordinarily hard to police, even though I agree with the sentiment.

Not sure why this got voted down. It was an honest question. Gentoo said no AI contributions. Artwork is a contribution, and someone will use AI to do it. I’m just pointing out that this will actually be hard to enforce, and I think someo

I wonder how long it will be before someone tries to submit some background artwork that is created by AI. Man, slippery slope!!

Clearly we didn't think this through back then. It should have been obvious to us that it is easier to create noise than it is to create signal. The idyllic dream of a free internet with long tails would be replaced with a steadily wor

True. My thinking is to sell it for $1 to someone who could make good use of it. It has many things that work, and it seems we could build on it and throw the old parts away as they age. Keeping it as is until 2031 means keeping everythin

The reverse flow is probably weaker by a million to 1. Tons of people are scammed each year, and there are very, very few retaliatory paths. I would suspect that the graph is acyclic for most people, but for people like, say, Krebs, that t
