I once heard this described as "pruning the tree of possibilities". It is a learned skill that is enormously effective. The great thing is you can practice a little at a time.

This is fascinating, but I can’t help thinking that the complexity of the Dutch East India Company would have had one first, even if it no longer exists today.

Thanks for the comment, Liam. In honesty, I was only thinking about the simple security use cases, but your comment makes it obvious that this will become a huge marketplace very quickly. You are clearly much closer to the puck than I am !

I’m waiting for a Docker container with a WASM runtime. Wait, maybe someone’s already done that… /s PS - actually, originally I was being sarcastic, but there probably are some very good security use cases for it.

French taxpayers shouldn’t. Since there are tons of donations from outside of France, that can pay for these portion. EDIT: Donations reference - https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/aug/08/notre

We solved the stability for drones that cost as little as $20. We’ll solve it the same way for jet packs as well.

I don’t read French, so I can’t make out everything on the website, but my thinking was more along the lines of a Data.gov or other open data site where the data is freely available, along with a wiki for researchers that is public, perhaps

I hope all this information from the research gets captured digitally and shared openly as part of the effort. It would be fantastic to have that available to all for research or even just hobbyist reading.

I agree. I read Jeff Hawkins book On Intelligence [0] back when it came out, and it had a profound effect on my thinking. Chasing more data, aka "parameters" doesn't seem to be the right answer. I think more of a Bayes model

I see tons of comments on how IBM sucks. Fair enough - they do. However, consider that IBM is selling off its AI crown jewel to “* refocus its business on cloud computing and AI services*.” So an IBM that does something like that knows it

They are encouraging people to sell. Most people wouldn’t care, but if you’re in a high tax bracket and you can sell one to buy another and keep your risk profile roughly the same, you’ll do it. People prefer to pay long term gains and take

Not quite true. For instance, I could sell my losses in a growth fund only to buy a different growth fund (not the same index though) and I get to stay in the market. Ideally you would do this on day 364 of losses to maximize the tax incent

I was using power to mean electricity, not compute power. Thanks for noticing that ambiguity. As for your comment about core usage in games, I'm still surprised how few cores it takes, even for modern games. Not my knowledge area at

Ha - it actually is!!!! This is too funny - I was about to reply to you, and then decided to check my files. Lo and behold, I found that when I bought the components in March 2012, I bought an Intel E5-2609 (which is indeed a Xeon!) for $29

This. Last January I converted my old (2012) quad-core Intel desktop and gave it to my son for gaming. The only thing I had to do was add a 1-TB SSD and put in an RTX-3060 Ti, and it runs every game (Fortnite, CoD, etc) at 100+ FPS without
