Does it matter? Once you’re on public roads, you need to ALWAYS fail-safe. And that means not blocking the road/intersections when something unexpected happens. If you can physically get out of the way, you need to. Period.

I don’t know. But if human drivers are having to go around them, they’re not doing the right thing. They need to drive or pull over. Never just stop there in the road and wait.

They’ve done a dip-in-a-toe thing many times, then gave up. If I was in charge of a business, and I’m an Apple fan, I wouldn’t touch them. I’d have no faith they’re in it for the long term. I think that would be a common view.

That they sell to the public? No way. They’ve clearly given up on server stuff and it makes sense for them. That they use INTERNALLY for their servers? I could certainly see this being useful for that. Mostly I think this is just to get mon

That’s llama, which didn’t scale nearly as well in the tests. Assumedly because it’s not optimized yet. RDMA is always going to have lower overhead than Ethernet isn’t it?

Great article. The description of how they handle shaders is just bonkers to me. Is that really what you’d have to go through to have a working system with plugin shaders from 3rd parties on multiple backends? Or is mostly the result of tim

Well Metal is the limitation there. But they’ve clearly learned a lot that will help in the future with other modern APIs like DX12 or Vulcan.

It wouldn’t be HDMI 2.1 because it couldn’t be certified. And if you claimed it was 2.1 I imagine they would sue you. Could it actually be made? I kind of wonder that. Like if one of the things you have to do is claim to the other device th

It’s interesting, if you go down near the bottom you see some people with both A’s and D’s. According to the ratings for example, one person both had extremely racist ideas but also made a couple of accurate points about how some tech conce

Yes, please. It’s extremely low effort. If you’re not adding anything of value (typing into another window and copying and pasting the output are not) then it serves no purpose. It’s the same as “this” of “wut” but much longer. If you’re po

That provides value as you’re comparing (and hopefully analyzing) output. It’s totally on topic. In a discussion of RISC v5 and if it can beat ARM someone just posting “ChatGPT says X” adds absolutely nothing to the discussion but noise.
