Same. Maybe flags count as -1 after enough?

Plus they have a massive labor cost advantage and a government heavily interested in pushing their players into all markets for dominance.

Will they get there? They rely so much on existing content. But in such a niche area where the documentation or other solutions often flat out don’t exist how are they supposed to get better through training?

Quite possibly never tested, of maybe only tested their problem and not if it broke anything else.

You could send a comment/open a discussion explain explaining what you did and asking if they would be interested in the feature or a PR.

At this point these could just be gamers who want to play a game and are being annoyed by something not being right. Maybe they use Claude or whatever and tell it to fix the problem and then just blindly submit it. I could see people doing

I’m sure it’s all over, I was assuming the smaller projects could deal with the handful of contributions. Something like a big emulator is very complex and has a LOT of motivated users who aren’t going to be able to make quality submissions

It’s starting to feel like we may need to go back to the model where you need to be invited to be able to submit code or PRs. The barrier is just too low now for popular projects.

I don’t think I watch any channels like that so that certainly explains it. Thank you.

In the last two years I could easily count on one hand the number of Prusas I’ve seen given out. Yeah, it happens. Bambu is straight up sending them to everyone breathing. 3D printer people? Given Bambu. Tinkerers? Bambu. Lego channels? Yea

I would argue against best visuals myself. Any site that needs an immediate pop-up telling me how to disable effects is tacitly admitting they have a bad design. Especially by needing multiple font choices.

INDX replaces their existing MMU solution, it will fix that. I’m not sure why 3D printed parts matter. Thats not why Bambu is cheaper. The visual design you can argue. Despite being on the Prusa side I do like the more consumer-y visual aes

It’s handy? Prusa supports the same thing, though they don’t force you to use it and are VERY clear it’s fully optional. You can go to their model site (Makerworld vs Printables) and if you’re logged in your can slice and start the print ri

Who IS he, could you give a summary? I don’t recognize the name and for some reason the article never gives a single sentence of context just expecting you to know the same way things expect you to know who Trump or Taylor Swift is. I even

Bambu won with relentless free giveaways to every YouTuber on the planet, cheap prices, and a consumer friendly looking design. I don’t think they earned it. I suspect there is a huge number of people out there who bought them who don’t eve

They fixed that with the 3.5 or 3.9 upgrade many years ago. The 4 and Core One families never had to do it. Edit: and yes, it did suck

This sounds great but I’m genuinely unable to figure out how to get to part one. Not the thumbnail. Not the pink text “A History of Visusl Basic”. Not the number one on the list of chapters. Not the chapter ousted at the very bottom. The

And that’s where my comment came in. I see TUI as a more general term: a program based in a terminal. In my mind it does not imply it has to be an ASCII GUI style thing and not just a stream oriented non-interactive program.

There are useful ones. Something like Midnight Commander can be way better than lots of manual copy and move commands. The kernel config one is way nicer than the stream style kernel configuration tool. Some of these newer ones are starting

I think it’s clear from the article declarative UI could be done, with correct implementation and some options to disable noise. Clearly no one put thought into any of that. It was just “make terminal, but pretty”.

They’re not terminal UIs. They’re attempts at pretending to have Windows (etc.) GUIs in a terminal. Same stuff people made for DOS when Windows wasn’t common or good enough yet. I’m not surprised they’re a disaster. Or built without underst

My M1 Air, which was my personal Mac, generally stomped my work MBP 2019 with an Intel chip. The difference between the absolutely silent M1 and the hairdryer Intel was staggering. I’m sure you’re completely right.

This only happened under a very odd configuration. Yeah it wasn’t great but it was not the normal case. The headline implies it broke PG everywhere. It didn’t.

They’re possibly dropping a protocol they’ve been saying they’d drop for years , and tightening connection validation. This is nothing like the mDNS stuff.

They might have. I moved to the Mac during XP. I never used Windows 7. I have used the server version that’s designed to be a bit like 8. I may have used 8 too, I can’t remember for sure. I’ve definitely used 10+. I have a PC at work that I

Nope. Not even close. Yeah the Mac GUI has declined. But it’s still far better than the incoherent mess of the last 15 ways MS were totally the future mashed together in random places. Windows has had great points. 95 era was fantastic. 200

Why switch? Thats a huge part of the Mac. The design, UI, and UX conventions exist for a reason. If you’re going to spend all your time fighting them you’re in for a rough spell.

On Windows alt-tab moves through windows . On Mac cmd-tab moves through applications . You need cmd-~ to move through an application’s windows . It’s a small difference but one that really breaks muscle memory.

I use both operating systems. I hate using things that don’t follow platform standards. It makes them more confusing and causes extra cognitive load. I simply see no benefit of a copy of very Windows-y app. It’s pure MDI with buttons in
