This lets me down a little bit. If two guys that I consider to be very knowledgeable on this topic disagree on some key things, how am I supposed to get most of this right?

Hey, I found a small typo in the presentation. On page 80, in "good" code sample, you can see: x |= MAC_computed[i] − MAC_computed[i]; It probably should be something like: x |= MAC_computed[i] − MAC_received[i];

The page indicates that it works on Macbook airs from 2011 and newer. However I own a 2012 version and it will not work, because it actually doesn't have Bluetooth 4.0. Which is a bummer, because I already had one app that use 4.0 befo

That change only reduces RELAY fee, which means that nodes will now by default relay transactions with such fees to other nodes. The default minimal miner fee, which is what miners require to include transactions in blocks is unchanged.

I agree with this 100%. When my internet gets slow I'm wasting so much time, because I'm still thinking it will finally work for me, whereas if its not working at all, I can go and do something else that is productive and doesn&#x

Try and contact the authors, it's likely that they will give you at least a better upgrade price for version 2. Some companies also give out upgrades like that for free for people who bought previous version just before the launch.

We're using GitLab for source code and issue management, as well as for internal documentation, and I must say it's really great piece of software. Plus, it's very actively developed and gets new features/fixes all the t

It's worth noting that Meteor is a unique framework, because of the live templating engine and data binding, that allow you to design and prototype real-time applications very quickly.

I got this, but I have too little time to verify whether it actually contains key information or not: http://pastebin.com/0CRw6hSy Edit: It seems that these are only trusted CA certs, there is no server cert in there.

It has been repedately demonstrated that it is possible to get private key from the server using this vulnerability, as well as user login details. You don't have only one shot - you can query the server multiple times (and every tim

But couldn't it be the case that with this bug you could sweep private keys from server's memory if they happen to be in there, because bitcoind is using them at the moment?

How it is news? It's been around for years already. Was there a major new development in scrypt that I didn't hear about? Or is this just "let's submit everything tar snap related week" as cperciva put it?

Yes, m-of-n addresses are the solution, we use it on Bitalo [0]. It's true that it is less suitable for day traders, and while they make the most of network volume, they are not the only purpose that exchanges exist. Some people just w

Points 2) and 3) can be solved, an exchange that accepts fiat and signs a transfer immediately after placing an offer is entirely possible. At Bitalo we chose not to accept fiat, but it's not a limitation of multisig scheme.

A feature you're talking about already exists in Bitcoin, and it's called multisignature addresses. There are few wallets that implement them [1] [2], as well as one exchange [3] (full disclosure: I wrote it) where you can buy and
