Facebook has a ton of hidden/private groups selling things. I know of several local to me, and I’m in a fairly rural area. All of them violate Facebook policy, and some are outright illegal. It’s interesting to watch!

It's certainly widespread, but it's not ubiquitous. I live smack in the center of the US, and visited Hawaii in ~2000. I remember being pleasantly surprised how little people cared about that sort of thing, and was far more comfor

I understand that living spaces are quite a bit larger on average here in the US. My home for my family of four is a 1,800 sq ft, 4 bedroom/w bath home with an office/den and large living room. It feels fairly typical for suburba

This is highly regionally dependent. For instance, when I lived in Virginia, it was relatively rare to see someone going more than 5 mph over the limit on the interstate (75 in a 70). I’m Arkansas, it’s very common to see people going 15 ov

This is what I mean - it makes no sense to carry it if you're in the US, right? It seems like it would make even less sense to have it on you if you decided to take a dozen of your friends and try to overthrow a foreign government. Wha

I thought for a while that the most likely situation was that these two guys in particular were caught up in something else. A "wrong place, wrong time" thing. Maybe they were down there on an ill-advised vacation, or maybe they w

Yes, but you seemed to hit on an important point - the questions inform how the case will be judged. The questions themselves, not the answers. Generally speaking, it seems that the outcome of a case is pretty much decided before oral argum

I agree with you. I follow SCOTUS cases within a couple of narrow interests, and there is always much discussion about what was really meant by questions that were asked. Much of that is due to lack of tone. Hearing oral arguments is going

We bought 40lb of flour and 20lb of sugar in early March; it was one of our last “preps” going into all this. We don’t normally go through either in any quantity - my wife and are both usually on keto. We’ve used all the flour (and have bou

I'm unsure of the source, but I consider word "terrorist" to mean someone who is not sanctioned by a state and uses violence or the threat of violence against non-combatants in an effort to achieve political goals.
