Hell, imagine all the PR at the moment. They don't just do Java, they have IDEs for PHP, iOS, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if their sales took off as a result of this keynote.

Not sure about the designer part myself, but in the consultation agency where I work, we often do custom themes for clients. Installing wordpress and configuring it is easy enough, even for new developers - but getting them to understand th

This could be useful as a starter theme for people who are still learning wordpress. Thanks! EDIT: I often have to teach other developers the basics of Wordpress - just pointing someone to the Codex sometimes isn't good enough, especially o

Even worse - on my MBP there is no pound sign on the keyboard. Try coding without a pound sign! (EDIT: I'm referring to the hash key, i.e. #) (I know it's alt 3, but WHY didn't they mark it on the keyboard? Newcomers have to google this! Th

I'm also not too satisfied with the 4GB default on the MBP - I needed to upgrade to 16GB to work properly. Getting a 16GB MBP from Apple, however, proved to be more exp then getting a 4GB and upgrading it manually to 16GB vengeance ddr3 ra

You certainly can do this - I would have liked the 7200rpm or even a SSD drive to be included on the base models though.

It depends on your clients - some of ours do just that, others might actually have ops teams.

If the client is insisting on hosting the solution (instead of you offering to host it in a controlled environment), then I assume the client has technical people in charge of hosting - and I would make it a point to meet them before I even

Is it seriously this hard to sell wordpress/drupal solutions? I work at a small company (Maltese based) - we do this every day. We never really bring up the technology itself - it's all about the customization and the effort required to dev

Shouldn't you ask what features the server supports (and what they can enable) before you even start developing? (Or whether you can host it yourself (in the case of websites))

Why don't you try out their 30 day trial? I wouldn't get PHPStorm if you're not using PHP (unless you want to be future proof in case you do end up using it.) Check out the webstorm features here: http://www.jetbrains.com/webstorm/features

by LordIllidan 14y ago
Put yourself in the child's position. You'd grow up and discover that your deafness is not due to some random genetic mutation, or even just inheritance - but your parents selected you to be deaf - just so that you could be exactly like the

This is sick. Depriving a child of music, birdsong, etc - just so that it can fit better into your society can't be considered ethical by any means.

What about when startups grow? Take Facebook as an example. Microsoft seems to be doing a good job targeting startups with Bizspark - not sure if Oracle has a similar program.

I really liked their iphone/ipad apps. I have to agree that I'm actually happy this happened - this way, Feedly and the other services can compete without being overshadowed by Reader.
