Yep. I love valve but let’s not forget that they are making 17+ BILLION dollars a year, 50+ million per employee. Gabe seems like a pretty good guy but he bought a $70m mansion and builds yachts as a side business… If they want to increase

Is this something that is more true of a Chinese model than any other model of a different national origin? Genuine question: generalized up from individual models to “models from country X”, is there any country that doesn’t have this exac

Jmap is a desperately needed upgrade, but email as a whole needs to be rebuilt. The fact that it’s so core to our current infrastructure, but is really poorly suited for maybe 75% of its usage, is a bad situation that’s only going to get wo

Amazon and Microsoft have shown considerable decay in their most visible products. Maybe it’s AI, maybe it’s just momentum, maybe it’s something else. But they AI clearly isn’t helping them and they have near infinite access(compared to me

Yup. If solar panels are good enough and cheap enough, if grid storage and battery density improve fast enough, the economic costs of staying on fossil fuels will create huge pressure in the political space and economic competition. You can

Certainly I think it’s something worth actually trying in the modern age. We’ve had quite a long run now of the representative democracy, I think we should all be open to talking about and trialing these “okay so what’s next?” Options. Befo

We have a very large Amazon warehouse/center in town, and during my last prime trial I received maybe 5/25 items listed under “2 day shipping” in actually 2 days. Nearly all took 4 or more. Cannot even imagine 1 day.

I would say about 99% of the population views software corporations as these monolithic inhuman cubes of pure shitanium. What these posts are important for is 1: reminding the average population that corporations are just abstract human pyr

Investment and finance in general, at this scale, is far more geopolitics than it is math. It’s self evident. We’ve all seen how the “math” on so much of the AI business sector literally doesn’t check out, and here there are: still ballooni
