I rebuilt an '88 R100RS as a project bike. It was great fun and a fantastic learning experience. Those things are amazingly hackable. Everything you could want to fiddle with is right there in the open.

The cost of paper and binding, for one. That's why physical books are so rarely pirated when compared to digital media. Printing a few pages sounds perfectly reasonable to me though.

Unfortunately the public domain concept is not recognized in all countries. If you wish for your software to be truly available in these nations you will still need to apply some sort of copyright license, no matter how liberal.

What freaks me out about this parasite is that it causes behavior changes in humans even in the asymptomatic cyst stage and is so widely prevalent. Ugh.

When I worked for $BIGCORP we'd get hardware failure calls from IBM to the tune of " server just phoned in with a drive failure, that part's not in stock locally, a plane left Atlanta with the part 15 minutes ago." It was damn slick.

I find generally that the people who most berate the game for it's dependency on chance are the ones who are losing :) Of course, if you're winning, it's all skill!
