I wish I needed a fast computer. It’s the CI/CD that’s killing me. All this cloud stuff we use - can’t test anything locally anymore. Can’t use the debugger. I’m back to glorified fmt.Printf statements that hopefully have enough contex

90 degrees is best for me and my Go code. Can fit tons more “if err != nil” blocks that way.

I was once asked to do 60 hour weeks indefinitely at a Perl shop. I quit of course, but it bothers me that it even entered their mind to ask such a thing. Wtf?

I still open up TP7 in DOSBox-X to play with "leet code" puzzles. They're mostly imperative and the super-fast compilation time and debugger are impressive even by today's standards.

Is that up there with the z16? I'm a mainframe n00b still, but it seems like some z16 configuration at least would be.

Are they dumping it on Eclipse and waving bye-bye or are they sticking around to develop it further? Many projects seem to be ditched by corporations and kind of orphaned in Eclipse and Apache

I did not enjoy the compile-edit-debug cycle when I was using C++. Have there been any advances in the area off a C++ REPL?

Having “spent some time in the job market lately”, the salaries seem astronomical if you’re C++ and fintech/HFT. I think some funny business is going on with those listings though… Kinda average in game development and sadly pretty low
