Well my take, having done retail and factory factotum work when I was younger, is that I'm not going to take one of those jobs ever again. I've also done jobs where I had to commute into a windowless office and be at my desk at an

A lot of things are coming together in Rails 8. IMHO this is even more ground breaking than Rails 7 and Hotwire. The amount of stuff you can do out of the box with Rails 8 is amazing.

Here's the project page: https://github.com/rails/solid_cable Looks like it's a database backed alternative to ActionCable (which is redis based).

What are you talking about? You don't need a therapeutic use exemption to use salbutamol at the doesages required to control asthma. It does not improve performance. Breathing cold air does induce asthma, so it's perfectly plau

Some of that is almost certainly confounded by the fact that many asthma medications - most notably salbutamol - are performance-enhancing drugs; an asthma diagnosis allows an athlete to take drugs under a therapeutic use exemption that wo

I think Kathy Sierra used to wrote about this quite a bit. She's actually referenced by Balsamiq I think.

That's nothing. In certain English accents pronouncing "konty" is likely to cause even bigger, er, headaches than an innocent reference to a butty.

Hopefully smaller, lighter batteries for a given range means we can have more "normal" EV cars vs cross-overs and SUVs to accommodate battery size.

I can think of a use case. The same one we have for modified transparent Zebra Fish in medical research. That is so that you can observe features such as the circulatory system. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zebrafish#

That's an interesting point, would you mind elaborating on how you think the goals of HTTP2 Push differed? Even is if is a misunderstanding it would still be useful to consider.

I came here to say the same thing. There was an article on HN recently that had a breakdown of PV install costs against panel costs. The more efficient the panels the less you need to fit, the less space you need and the lower your running

Yes you can use either. I think you might be slightly more limited in your choice of database drivers compared to MRI Ruby but I believe there’s a JDBC driver that should fill the gap.

I have mixed feelings about this. It's saying that python is too slow for data science ignoring that python can outsource that work to Pandas or NumPy. For GraphQL on Rails you can avoid graphql-ruby and use Agoo[1] instead so that th

Equally, if your team is going to store 500GB vendored components it doesn't matter if that's all in one place or smeared many repos. You still have the same issue.
