I don't take the term boss literally here. His position and influence still has enough weight to make a poor interaction with him a career limiting event. I think that's what OP was referring to, he's still the guy that found

Fair enough. I haven't had the same experience but that's mostly because I'm a Dev, implementing it for other developers. It sounds less like a product problem vs. configuration problem caused by your IT teams.

Oh? We were in need of an MDM to help staff (non-techs) with their Mac books. I haven't noticed any issues, nor have two of my staff who are trialling it. What's been your main gripe? I'm a Dev but also manage the It team of

Interesting that your experience was a double increase in costs from going up in security level. My experience was it was an order of magnitude (10x) at each level . E.g., OFFICIAL let's say is $1,000,000 PRIVATE becomes $10,000,000 SE

Hey thank you! I didn't know that, I was still stuck in the thoughts of using Transit Gateways between accounts which of course attracts $$$.

It's fine, but you're going to attract a lot of network costs bridging data between AWS accounts. Generally I'd stick to accounts per environment, you'll be worrying about a lot more when you get to FAANG scale.

It's more likely that they're using the free tier, and your time in Captcha is helping them train a model and prevent misuse (e.g. shared accounts, scriptures) Leaning towards the former more.

Unfortunately Perth and Brisbane have climbed a great deal closer to Sydney now. The gap in terms of cost to buy or rent is narrowing, at current rates we're looking at the gap closing entirely in the next 5-10 years.

I highly recommend against Microsoft Surface products. I bought them for my dev team and we saw 3 of the 10 or so devices fail and need to be replaced. The RMA experience in other countries may differ to Australia, but it meant my team were

Which VPS provider did you go with? I tried AlphaVPS and another and I had no luck with the traffic routing out of the VPS. Went with a droplet in DigitalOcean in the end that's managed through Portainer. Works a treat and equivalently

Hey Jacob, awesome suggestion! Are you building your base image from the GitHub runner-images repo? Do you have any appetite for building self hosted EC2 agents for Azure DevOps and GitHub? I'm happy to help if you are, I'm workin

I appreciate the context you're providing, but "Hey you'd be dead regardless of where you are in the building at the time if it collapses" isn't as reassuring as you'd think.

Have to map GUID and UIDs from the Proxmox host to the LxC to allow bind mappings work as an example. Proxmox doco for unprivileged LxC is here: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Unprivileged_LXC_containers

Reddit is another example where they've broken the mobile browser experience, to send you to another app. Arguably broken, but in different ways.

I took the original message as being, if you're near the sea, the air around you is cooler so the environment it's self is less harsh. Though I can guarantee on a hot day, 2.5 million people aren't making their way to beaches

No crocs near us. There's quite a lot of lakes for freshwater swimming and when the rain is right, rock pools. The sea is about 45 minutes away but only rock beaches. But we have the famous beaches of Sunshine Coast (Noosa) and Gold Co

Price ridiculously wasn't something I considered, once that out of the way it was mostly aesthetics, customisation, reliability and repairability. I preferred how chucky the UHK was vs the ErgoDox kits. Also preferred the hot swappable
