You should double check that they didn't actually run CAT5e and just terminate using RJ11. My old house (built in 2007) did that.

This is a great article, but like others have said, difficult in practice to pull off. But doesn't mean we (the industry) shouldn't try. My own personal experience: I have a calendar assistant startup ( http://reclaim.ai

It's a very safe assumption: we're just automating Tailscale ACLs. Tailscale admins (3 of us) can still come in and manually change them.

I haven't really felt like 1Password's product materially strayed from the original mission. If anything, I'm even more delighted with the team functionality, shared vaults, quick keyboard access in 1Password 8, etc. I wouldn

We love Tailscale. Everyone employee has it, and we use it to provide access to dev, staging, and prod environments as well. Fun little thing we did with it: nobody can access the prod network without requesting access via a Slack bot (powe

Hey -- my startup ( https://reclaim.ai ) got mentioned here. Super cool! Funny enough: quite a few Zapier employees use us to do calendar automation. IMO, the opportunity is "and" not "or". Zapier is great (I u

I mean… aren’t their investors also guilty of some incredible malfeasance? It was pretty obvious from the outside Fast was kind of a joke: you couldn’t find their product in the wild even if you tried. What did those investors think was goi

There is this explosion-like “swoosh” sound that was emitted in Doom by one of the big baddies, and ever since I played that game as a kid I’ve heard it in all sorts of TV shows, movies, and other games. I wish someone did an article on tha

I'm in the same boat. The issue is... what great alternatives are there? I'm not interesting in investing the time required with pfsense / custom stuff. I want a similar experience to Ubiquity... does it exist?

This is a great reminder that when working with test data for stuff like email delivery, always use example.com (or a few other similar TLDs) and not stuff like "test.com" or "acme.com" or "dummyuser.com". I se

We (reclaim.ai) have a fairly advanced Slack integration. Custom actions, modals, Slack status, interactive messages, custom bot home screen, etc. I truly can’t tell what this is. I also had never heard of Deno before so that context didn’t

Meh. I’m pretty annoyed about over-the-top wokeness too, but this was shit management. It is understandable that people would be furious and thus inclined to amplify every slight.

Most calendar apps can display many calendars at once, overlaid on top of each other. But often a problem is that people in one organization can really only check the free/busy time for one of your calendars (the primary calendar assoc

I absolutely desire to support it, but just being realistic it is at least 1-2 years off, pending our overall success as a company. The market just isn’t big enough to justify the R&D expense at this stage. Sorry :(
