Historically, people at work wanted to talk about anything other than work. They'd talk about football, politics, last night's Britain's Got Talent, or whatever; yet spend a whole day struggling with a task without asking th

The Wikipedia article gives a suggestion for how to kill the maggots (and force them to vacate the cheese) if one is squeamish. The article actually makes it sound rather delicious (if hard to obtain).

What made it interesting to gamers was that its sprite handling was well in excess of that offered by the 16-bit consoles of the time, allowing some very accurate ports of early nineties Japanese arcade games. Combined with the big box pac

I really wish everyone offered email receipts. They soon build up, and you spend a lot of time shredding them.

Indeed. The point discussed in the grandparent relates to indirect access to the daemon. E.g., a process (not under direct user control) communicating with the Docker daemon via http API. The point being that the cp endpoint can be compr

Fair enough. :) Docker does have fairly good support for SELinux built in tho (which counts as "using Docker" in my book). And I do like that Docker makes the SELinux fairly straight forward for the simplest usecases (adding :z o

The suggestion in the linked post is a situation where the Docker daemon is being controlled via its API in a multi-tennant environment where user configuration files are loaded into the container via the cp endpoint. I could concieve of t

Does your recommendation still stand when Docker used in conjunction with SELinux (and SELinux categories for tennancy isolation)?

There should have been push-back on the change before it got to the implementation stage. It shouldn't be down to the implementor to query the decision (as they won't have full sight of all factors). That querying should have ha

I thought most email clients block third party images by default? Certainly Outlook, Thunderbird, and K9 do. This must skew those results somewhat.

A place near me limits WiFi to 45 minutes at peak times, which I think is best. AC outlets on the other hand are for more than laptops. If I'm going somewhere for a coffee, it's good to be able to charge my phone too.
