Seriously. How is it possible to still be ignorant about the (up to) 2 week asymptomatic incubation period? This is the entire reason why the virus is so dangerous! And where did OP mention anything about masks protecting the carrier from i

Where I live it has been public policy to only recommend the flu shot to at risk groups. Never really gave it much thought before. Now I strongly disagree with the policy

In an ideal world you wouldn't even have to go that far. Just say that anyone born before 2020 is not allowed to have sex with anyone born in 2020 or later

It's really depressing looking at how Sweden is handling it when sitting in Denmark. The contrast is pretty extreme Sweden seem to be prioritizing the economy heavily. Comparing the two responses is going to be interesting once this al

I didn’t say anything about comparing the US to Europe? I was explicitly saying to keep it in mind when comparing the numbers from the US to Italy!

"Beginning" might be the wrong term, as it's a bit into the beginning that it starts to make a difference. Local saturation happens fairly quickly. Having 100 infected in one place is very much different to having 1 infection

You have to bear in mind when doing any analysis of this that you shouldn’t treat the US as one country when comparing to Italy. The number of distinct outbreaks happening at once makes a big difference in the steepness of the curve in the

Amount of people tested, age of people infected and time So far the people infected skews fairly young And the pandemic took hold around Tuesday and it takes about a week for hospitalization to be required in the severe cases

What does that have to do with the US's testing capability per capita compared to other countries?

Do you honestly think that a country would close down the government if it was "just another flu"? Really? The population has immunization to the flu, it doesn't spread that quickly. (It spreads quickly, but not -that- quickl
