All bluetooth headsets make people look like dorks, but that hasn't stopped their proliferation. FWIW, when I was an intern at Google, Sergey wore them 24/7. He looked a bit weird the first couple of times, but after that he just

I do this all the time with Amazon's Trade-In Program. A couple of times a year, I look at my book shelf and video games. If I haven't read/played them within the last 6 months, and have no compelling reason to hold onto them

Gotta say that I disagree (yes, yes, it's all anecdotal). I find a great deal of the hassle in selling stuff online is the shipping aspect: how much does it cost? Will I have to travel to the Post Office? How long will I have to be there? D

Also, Walking Dead's episodic format was at risk by Microsoft's XBLA release policy, where publishers are given slots that they can have, and you don't get any more (think like airstrip use at an airport). So they had to end-run it by havin

Couldn't have said it better myself. There hasn't been a more unashamedly biased "reporter" than MG Siegler in recent memory. At least Gruber never tried to be anything approaching legitimate. I don't understand how he could be expected to

FWIW, this has been heartily debunked by more modern research by Nick Yee, which is easily summed up as "Just because you like pizza, doesn't mean you don't like ice cream." People move into different modes at different times, and are not m

The problem is that if your account is disabled, it's unlikely you'll be able to acces Gmail, IMAP or otherwise. I think Takeout has an exception so that it works even when your account does not.

I think this kerfuffle does point at something that would be nice to have ratified in the HTML spec somewhere: the idea that content exists in different qualities and formats, and that when the user requests to download the content, she's p

I'm surprised that Welsh argues that tenured CS profs still have to follow what publication venues want to see. Why not just say, "Fuck it?", publish on blogs / arvix.com/, and let the field catch up to them? Because funding agencies don'
