Sounds like all you really want is a search function where you could search on a person/circle and a hashtag, then save it. person:Markus Persson tag:#minecraft Of course, this would require the ability to search the stream, which isn't pos

A lot of people I greatly respect do a heck of a lot of work, and the G+ team fits in that model! I'd love to work with them too, but I think maybe when things have calmed down a bit :)

I do think that G+ is going to have some very tricky issues to navigate ahead in terms of integrating with other services. Private messaging is a decently amusing one (I wouldn't be surprised if some thin layer on top of email is introduced

This is a very consumerist outlook (you're American, no?) I don't think many people in Europe spent a large amount of time wishing they lived in the US, I don't think many do now. Europe is not some sub-standard America. When the pound was

it's not the direction the company wants to go Nor has it ever been. While lists might appear to work now, I would not at all be surprised if lists are a leaky abstraction with all sorts of holes that would require the codebase rearchitec

Yes, the individualized product names don't really fit with the sandbar. Blogger was probably OK (it's clear what it does), but Picasa doesn't communicate what it does well, and worse, the Sandbar calls it "photos" but then you land at the

So I just looked into what's in the VCards. How it works is you get all your contacts, and the data you're authorized to see . So, people who you're just following and aren't sharing anything with you, just appear as Google Plus links. Peo

I read it the other way; that Twitter were upset about G+ and wouldn't re-sign. I noted a [deleted] post at the bottom of this thread, where the replies indicate that "Twitter couldn't have known about G+", hence I guess the [deleted] post

Well, this isn't exactly the same thing. Moving out of China was simply a case of turning off the servers there. Should Google try and set itself up in the Cayman Islands? Considering the very large stick Google got beat with in regards to

Having a good product is not an anti-trust violation. People are free to leave Google Plus at any time. It can be turned on and off. You can take your data in and out. You can go to Bing whenever you like.

No, it's very clear why Google+ is invite only. Google+ is in field test. It needed to be tested publicly in order to start really getting a good understanding of what users are doing and what the scaling problems are. There are already a b

This is bonkers, because Activision Blizzard alone are making money hand over fist with WoW. There's no way that Zynga is worth that much.

If there are things you don't like, the thing to do is send feedback . I can't stress this enough. As it says in the blog post, the changes are coming across months, not days, so there is always time to change course on something given eno

Once the batteries die, you've basically got a Chevy Cruze + a bunch of weight dragging down MPG, as well as buyers saying "this doesn't work," so I'm expecting it will deprecate through the floor.

I'm actually most concerned about the lifetime of the batteries. From what I've read, the batteries top out at 8 years, and presumably degrade before that. As the $20k Chevy Cruze is the same chassis as the Volt, I guess the batteries come

Obviously, the nav bar has been internal for a while. I was not a big fan when I first saw it either, but now I've grown to quite like it. It's across all the products, and it sort of stamps the page as "you're at Google", much in the same

I think this is a rollout issue, and Gmail will adopt it soon, as the rest of the products have. I don't know what "soon" is. (DISCLAIMER: I work at Google, but do not work on consumer products and have no particular info about this).

Indeed. If you don't use Facebook (and I was one of the last hold-outs in my social group), the "friend" terminology will lead you to believe that the people you attach to are actually friends, of which you can only have about 20 real ones.

My Optimus V has a tiny amount of on-board space, so 8MBs is actually a big deal. Some apps can't move to the SD card, moving there means things like notifications from that app won't work any more. It's a terrible architectural decision, b
