This is very far removed from my experience growing up. How do kids even get to school? Can't they walk, cycle or take the bus (I assume that must be possible but they still have to get to the bus stop)? My first experience of being ab

I am not in the US. The original post is not even about the US? Shocking. Is this really true? I grew up with my bicycle, which gave me the freedom to spend the summer holidays how I wanted. Visit friends, and when I got a little bit older

> “go outside and play, come back for dinner” why is this impractical? EDIT: I'm getting downvoted but I am seriously not sure. I don't have kids right now but its part of how I intend to raise them when I get them.

this is the most astonishing thing I have read in a long time and I am CS not electrical engineering, so I have no idea what these drawings mean. I speak german, but I hope something works to translate this easily, as it is absolutely crazy

Strange. I never had any problem with nvidia GPUs, but I only ever used data center GPU like the V100 (and don't set them up myself). There's a lot of things that go wrong, at least my nvidia GPU always works.

I tried to use it with my linux laptop but it didn't work. It assumes you're in the same wifi and that the usual broadcasting works, right? This is not what airdrop does. Airdrop is fast and works by physical proximity. You don&#x

to be fair, it's possible that I also experience this from time to time. Since it's an old laptop, sometimes things are slow and I have to wait a bit for intelligence to initialise and cache results. But generally, especially if I

I currently use an old macbook from 2014. Everything is slow and I can't have too many applications open at once. But vscode is still one of the snappier ones and I don't see those keystrokes issues. Of course you can always go le

A bit offtopic, but I really like bauhaus-style cantilever chairs but I always had problems with robots wanting to climb them and then getting stuck/being super loud, same with drying racks. Is this still a problem? I thought maybe tho

lol, this is so stupid. Don't they realise that people usually develop locally and train on a server? You don't need a super beefy GPUs to do it, so you buy nvidia. So people are used to nvidia, debug and fix bugs etc. It's n

I don't think you will need something coda-compatible. Apple has relatively solid pytorch support without copying CUDA, but PyTorch+ROCm is still not working on windows (and I think there's no ROCm support for the consumer GPUs fr

flying is also not ecologically sustainable. We need alternatives, even if we can't eliminate long distance flights, to reach zero emissions quickly.
