A note that Jeff Kaplan the director of the title resigned in May. He was heavily involved from its inception and throughout the development of Overwatch 2, and was a huge part of the community.

If the larger size of 48” isn’t a deal breaker, the LG CX/C1 make amazing desktop displays- 4K120 + OLED response times.

One of my favourite things in macOS is how well it handles scaling on 4k displays. I find windows / Linux unusable for any duration >15 minutes when I don’t have glasses on. Things are either not scaled/tiny, or Fischer price l

Qt5 documentation quality has steadily slid down hill. Any new modules they add you essentially have to peruse the source to understand what/how/why it works.

This is exactly why I have syncthing setup to mirror my iCloud Drive folders to my NAS. In the best of times, iCloud is used to seamlessly sync between iDevices. If it fails, I still have a local backup, accessible from iDevices, albeit les

There is value in seeing a bunch of faulty ideas that leads up to a good one. For this reason I keep almost all of my got dev/feature branches posted to an archival remote.

One thing I like about crossbar is the meta-events system. Being able to run a callback when some else subscribed to a topic has been super useful to only do work when someone is interested/subscribed.

Wow that is crazy that you have to jailbreak to enable that! My Kobo Libre just shows up as a mass storage device that I drag epubs on to and they just show up in the "My Books" list.

For docker on freebsd to get any traction, it would need to be implemented with the vm behind the scenes. The beauty of the macOS/windows versions are that they require 0 setup/maintenance and are an implementation detail.

Was there ever a technical reason why swarm never won out in the market? I've still got a couple of multi-node swarms that work great and are WAY easier to configure than k8s. I never really understood why it didn't take off.

OPNsense is criminally underrated. My main routers for my office are virtualized OPNsense VM's in high availability with CARP, DHCP, DNS, VPN endpoints, inter-vlan routing, gateway policies, outbound nat... I could go on. It all works

Agreed, Syncthing has been rock solid no matter what I throw at it. 500gb of music files? source code directory with 100's of 1000's of files from npm_modules accidentally included? Photos? It just works. It also plays well with o
