A useful article for at least intermediate VIM users. Regarding the system clipboard register: in OS X 10.8 the `"+` register no longer works. Has anyone found a way to get it working again?

Here is how you can paste the word under cursor to the command line: C-r-w Handy for renaming variables with :%s/oldname/newname/g , for example.

Using VIM delights me everyday. However, I also work with Java codebases, and there Java IDEs are still relevant. I've tried a VIM plugin on IntelliJ IDEA, but it doesn't work well. I'd like to use the VIM keybindings with IDEA for the sake

You could, but setting up Eucalyptus is a lot of work, compared to Fake S3, a Ruby tool.
