There is a paper by OpenAI suggesting to restrict availability of compute. https://twitter.com/harmlessai/status/1624617240225288194 https://arxiv.org/pdf/2301.04246.pdf

Enough to make your own. Unneutered AIs will be made illegal to operate (rightly so perhaps, they could be dangerous for the governments).

Much in this world would be better if we donated to what ought be a public service. If browser vendors didn't have to chase profits, perhaps they wouldn't be so user-hostile, and the same principle applies to most software I'

Mozilla has been going down a bizarre path for a while. If only Brendan Eich could have stayed at Mozilla instead of getting excommunicated, then we'd have the best of Brave and Firefox. (What _really_ showed me Mozilla is going crazy

USDC is not speculative? It's a stablecoin. Gold would also be a solution but its illiquidity makes it impractical.

Why do people still require PayPal in this day and age? Even if it's needed, why are your funds on there? I use Revolut, but make sure to keep more than enough as USDC to secure myself against arbitrary freezes.

A sophisticated attacker could make use of bugs in the player to hack the system. This sort of trick is often used against high value targets where the effort needed makes it worth it.

In practice, all simple behaviour you want can be expressed succinctly. If you want it to have complex behaviour, the type is complex. This is no different from using natural language to describe the problem. If for example we want it to im

This will never happen. Linux is way too big for this. The percentage of developers using Linux is so large that making your tool only work under WSL makes very little sense, especially when the native approach is usually easier/simple

My biggest complaint with all these AI coding tools is that they fail to make use of types; types would allow you to filter many incorrect outputs trivially by type checking it. If you go all the way to dependent types, you could even make

Elon's vision seems more likely nowmthat AGI seems to be closer than ever. Even if it isn't "conscious" nor has "free thought", what we have today seems awfully close to what's necessary.

This seems reasonable to me. Caches should last longer; if you want to be sure of you get the latest version, rename the file. a good trick is to include the hash of the file in the name to get content-addressing à la IPFS.

It seems to me that the author isn't comfortable with static typing. The obvious solution (which might be impossible in MyPy?) is to have a two-parameter type class (protocol in MyPy?) of the lhs and rhs, and have the output be of an a
