Such "transparency reports" are only a lower bound. If the government requires you to keep the request a secret, you must keep it secret.

If it's true, then this is proper use of the DMCA. The code itself is no longer visible so nobody here can say for sure.

It's not visible due to the takedowns, but if the students are including the original copyrighted work in its entirety, with their own original additions bundled in, it seems like the DMCA should apply. That's why commentary stuff

It's not a matter of pity or romanticism. Becoming dependent on imports for food is a national security concern. That's why farmers get subsidies and special treatment.

It's not bad for consumers but companies like Google and Netflix have a vested interest in keeping everyone away from that model because their own businesses rely on average joes moving large amounts of data. At this point they have so

And if zombies rise from the dead to eat our brains, it would suck if they were able to track me via a GPS tag built into my skull, but even that invasive loss of privacy is obviously not the real problem.

The government silencing protest is the problem there, not a lack of privacy. Dissidents don't have that need if society and government allow free expression.

I like it and used it for a while, but ultimately its lack of certain killer apps like Puzzle and Dragons sent me back to iOS.

How do you reconcile that with the fact that you have an account here with a history of comments?

To simplify a bit, I wasn't claiming the next generation would oppose you. I was disputing your claim that they would support you. I think it's far more likely that they will come to some new conclusion that none of us old fogeys

That's not my point at all. Unlike you, I don't presume to predict the behavior of people I don't understand so confidently. I never said that they don't care about privacy. I suspect all humans care. I just expect them

Yeah, probably. I thought that was all security agencies. Isn't the whole idea of spies that they assume false identities to try to gather information they wouldn't legitimately have access to?

That's a completely inaccurate description of my reply. But I suppose you'll consider that remark a personal attack too?

If the room is full of other naked people, that person will feel weird if they don't undress. (At least that's how I'd react, and most people I know).

That's a silly question that calls into question your understanding of computer systems. When we say we have nothing to hide, we're not talking about passwords. Someone knowing your password can impersonate you. That's a very

What makes you think the youth will be on your side? This generation is growing up with twitter and facebook as facts of life.

If your claims about the US are any clue, I don't think there's any reason to trust the accuracy of your knowledge of Turkey either.

This is by far the largest reason for the delay. If you watch some youtube videos on your work computer, no big deal. But if you need to jack off at work, you had better use your own phone if you care about keeping your job at all.

There is a huge problem. Your landlord still needs access, and isn't very eager to keep track of 15 different locking systems across all his tenants when the keyed locks he installed work perfectly fine.

And a system where A) you give everyone the same 2 character password B) you don't give anyone a username and C) anyone can give anyone else admin credentials with no authentication? works just fine there.
