Jeff is really talking about a very specific kind of app: one that provides an interface to a web service, and that has (or could have) a comparable service accessible through a browser. There are a lot of apps that make the bulk of the &qu

I think the attraction of the US market is that is big AND homogeneous: the EU in its entirety for example has more people and comparable wealth, but it's made up of dozens of countries, each with its own language and regulatory laws,

In Spain and Italy "sending a Whatsapp" is almost as idiomatic as "Googling something". It has basically replaced texting. Even my mom use it, which for me it's the definition of "wildly popular".

By living in a few different countries, I found out believing that the current political climate of your own is somewhat worse than other ones where supposedly things work better is a common fallacy. Universal healthcare exists (and works,

Based in Spain, medium-sized local company (few hundreds), I have about 30 days vacation every year. Usually the company locks some of these for the days close to Easter and Christmas. I usually use these to visit my family abroad. I have l

New York and especially London are not exactly known for their sunny weather and yet have an housing market similar to that of SF... I'm not saying it's not a factor, but I think there are more important ones.

I think modern Android and iOS devices could do that just as well. I believe not supporting Flash has more to do with Apple/Google strategies (i.e. not depending on propietary third party software) than actual hardware limitations.
