> All your monitors are combined into a large canvas where every pixel can be written and read by any X11 client. Heh. I learned this hard way when trying to set up multiple monitors with different refresh rates

I don't know how to get my point across, I guess I'm just thinking emotionally more than logically right now lol. Either way it's not my comments being visible verbatim that irks me but rather the processing part. But I get y

I dunno man. When I first joined it was unconcieveable that someone could just take everything and build a trivially queryable _conversational_ (that's a big part of it) model around everything I've posted _just like that_. Call m

Polish person here, I can confirm that x-rated stuff on teletext was very much a thing. I have no reason to believe the ad is fake

The original comment was about whether these things should be treated as errors during the local development process, or during CI for greenfield projects. I deleted it after realizing that the article actually does address this. But I'

We don't really have this problem in .NET 8, we mock stuff just fine using an in-memory database provider. But I admit my tone missed the mark. It may have been much harder to do in the past, or maybe I'm missing some nuance. But

Great post. Now let's do C# because if I see a repository pattern doing nothing but calling Entity Framework under the hood again I'm going to rip the planet in half

The takeaway that vibe coding introduces security holes by default sounds sensible to me. But also the security issue with Postgres sounds like something I could run into myself even when coding by hand, to be honest

What is the real point you're trying to make here?

These days I don't even use a WSL distro directly, but I do use it as a backend for my Docker Desktop.

Yeah it would be really useful to have in the readme what kind of problems this solves that dev containers don't solve already

I still have a netbook. It's not an Asus Eee but a Samsung N102SP. I don't really know if there's any way I can use it for anything nowadays. Windows is out of the question - it originally shipped with Windows 7 Starter, whic

I don't have an issue with the UX, but the design of the user interface seems to have been copied almost pixel-for-pixel. I wish this project a lot of success but also that it ends up devloping its own identity.

It's funny because 90% of my experience has been legacy projects, and the greenfield projects for me were the hardest, because it's really hard to organize as a team to build something from ground up, not kill each other with shov

It appears so. Steam OS, at least in the form that exists on my Deck, is not suitable for general purpose. True, it has a desktop environment, but it's "jailed" - of course with an option to jail break it, but anything you do
