This seems like a good thing if front-end fragmentation is not an issue, ie. if it's hosted on a server and kept in sync with the backend through deployment. As a mobile app? Maybe not. I'm honestly a bit puzzled which scenario th

I think Windows 11 does it a lot better than Vista / 7 did. The issue I had with it was mostly that it looked good when you had a single window open and you could see your wallpaper behind the glass, not so much when you had multipe wi

That is true. In my opinion the introduction of the command palette was the game changer, but of course it's more than just that. Today you can really say the UI is nice and discoverable.

It would be great if I didn't have to pay the equivalent of 2000 USD for the full cycle where I live. Kids get it for free but if you're 30 you're shit out of luck

Okay, that's fair enough. Though even if you have a game that you bought outside of Steam, you can add it as a non-Steam game to benefit from the compatibility layer and all the bells and whistles.

I don't think calling gaming on linux "possible" gives it the justice it deserves, with the arrival of the Steam Deck and all the improvements Valve contributed to the upstream. The experience is practically _seamless_. I agr

??? That's an excellent reason _not to do work_ until your work provides you with a better laptop. Or at the very least only run these tests from CI, which will slow you down. But it's not your fault or your responsibility. It is

Styling functionality doesn't have to imply introducing a new look and feel, it might just be needed for extensibility.

Uno is closer to a full stack rather than front-end in comparison with Avalonia.

I don't know about that. Cohesive is important but what's also important is playing nice with the respective OS's design guidelines. For example, take dialog boxes and the order and positioning of "OK, Cancel" butto

If .NET is an option (since you mentioned MAUI) I would have gone with Avalonia. It's like WPF, which was used for Visual Studio, except it's cross-platform and can target Windows, macOS, Linux, web, iOS, Android (and from what I

Personally I am in love with Avalonia UI for client-side because it just feels like WPF/Silverlight done right. I can use all my WPF knowledge to develop cross-platform PWA apps. It's the shit.

There's a WH40k DOOM-like game that came out recently BTW. It's called BOLTGUN. I haven't played it yet but it looks super fun [1] https://store.steampowered.com/app/2005010/Warhammer_40000_B...
