Anecdotally, Bluetooth audio is now better for me than on my Windows (same hardware) and Mac devices. From poor quality to higher latency, Pipewire's made quality at least as good, and latency the best of the three OSes.

In my experience, the key is to not run cutting edge hardware, particularly networking and graphics hardware. Especially not on older kernels, like on Ubuntu 20.04.

I use Fluffychat on mobile and Fractal on Gnome. Fluffychat is excellent, but Fractal is still lacking e2ee support (there's a rewrite on the way with support already in place).
