My Github profile is similarly sparse. Github is a private company with private repositories. If you identify as a developer, you're probably a developer.

It's been incredibly difficult to get an answer out of them on whether they pool bandwidth[1], which would allow you to just build your own load balancers on their smallish instances while leveraging the transfer included in the rest o

What is integrated about it? They're just a VPS provider, which is a strict subset of what you can do on AWS.

If all you want is media keys support, Bearded Spice does the job. It supports a bunch more web apps too, like Youtube and spotify. http://beardedspice.com/

There's no money in advertising to uploaders, the only money in this is advertising to the recipients. That's a lesson it took me an embarrassingly long time to learn.

Imgur had a partnership with a CDN, this guy is just hosting it on an OVH box.

Allowing direct linking to binary files is a recipe for malware disaster. It's not going to take long for malware uploaders to start using the site to host drive-by malware payloads.

I read all of your posts, you come off as an asshole in many of them, particularly: > So basically it's for people not too familiar with HTML and CSS? Ie. like a WordPress theme?

I didn't downvote, but your tone is all wrong. You sound like a know it all, while also not making a strong argument against grids.

The parent was asking why Github haven't hired him, not why nobody has hired him. If you remember, Github actually banned him for hacking the Rails account in his pentesting.

Yeah, the first Github and Rails exploit is the one that still sticks out in my mind. That kind of thing can be hard to shake, but it helps that you were quite young at the time. I'm happy to see you've matured a lot since then.

Not really, lots of things can accomplish the same tasks and are functionally different. A car will get you from one location to another (necessary task), but so will a boat or a plane.

If you are torrenting copyright files and therefore uploading bits of it in the process, you are enabling copyright infringement. At least by the standards of a number of courts around the world.

Replace "can accomplish the necessary task(s)" with "are functionally equivalent" and maybe you have a point. But the pirate copy is missing automatic updates and access to the web services (which Adobe has cleverly star

There are very few people with ops in there and one of them is well known on HN ( http://swombat.com/ ). Now that I think of it I've never seen any other op speak.

That's not really an argument, and that isn't standard navigation to begin with. It's for in-page links and the links highlight as you scroll. I would argue that it's perfectly intuitive.
