I was hoping they were going to take my money (when I saw the "Join Beta"), unfortunately it is Windows only. Personally I know only one person working in Go on Windows, I know 40+ either on Linux or MacOS. I hope for Linux versio

Weird, here we are using Are (100m²) and Hectare (10,000m²). Till now I equated Acre with Are but it turns out they are different things.

Downgrade is an issue as previously signed kernels (before this patch) would be happy with userspace using that TPM config to decrypt the hibernation imagine. As the previous kernels are already signed, downgrading to them is allowed under

The solution for that is Secure Boot. As far as I know TPM is aware of Secure Boot status being changed and will disable/wipe secrets when it happens.

Just to augment the story: Kuba is not an internet nickname. It is a shorter form of given name Jakub (Jacob). I use Jakub only in documents and during formal events. For everyone else I'm Kuba.

Looks like the Segate 0007 are 1y old on average, where the 0008 are 44 days old on average. The 12TB HGST are 220 days old on average. The Segate 12TB failure rates seem high, quite unfortunate as I own 6 of them.

On run of the mill singlemode fiber loss is roughly 0.5dB/km. Splitting off half of the light (and you don't need half, much less is fine), would result in 3dB of loss. Fiber tramsreceivers automatically negotiate the power needed

While working on IPFS we found out that good multiplexers are hard to find. Currently we use QUIC as one of possible multiplexers. This is also good news for rust-ipfs implementation.

Another reason might be GC. They are probably using Go's GC for Lua. In Rust you would have to also write the GC.

As far as I know "varies the frequency of the transmitted light and measures the freq and phase delay" is the standard way of measuring ToF in case of lasers. You modulate the laser diode by a signal of a wide range of frequencies

Replying to sibling comments. They can't buy AMD (nobody can) for patents as licences on parts of x64 AMD doesn't own will be voided if AMD is ever acquired.

Fuel in SpaceX rockets (and other working gases) are cryo-cooled, after tanks warm up, even small amount of liquid gas stored in a tank evaporates into a lot of gas which can create very high pressure.

Go bootstrap uses Go1.4 which compiler is written in C. So: compile Go1.4 and use that to compile the Go 1.X compiler (I don't know but multiple steps might be necessary).
