OP was ambiguous, he means that the article "The Cost of Enabling Exception Handling" that was linked only applies to Windows x86, not to Windows AMD64 or the Itanium ABI. The Itanium ABI and 64-bit Windows have near-zero cost whe

Only about 1 in 5 people who use cocaine become addicted to it [1]. It also looks like it's pretty hard to overdose from cocaine alone. Overdoses seem to happen due to impurities mixed into the drug. [1] https://www.michigan

Not quite sure I follow. There is a Turing Machine that will halt for any input you give it and return true if that input is valid HTML, and false otherwise. There is no FSM that can do that. For your second point about iteratively rebuildi

This is most certainly untrue, a finite state machine can only decide a regular language. Pushdown automatas, which can decide context free languages, also always halt but there is no finite state machine that can simulate them. In other wo

Yep and what's worse is no parent is going to ever admit that they gave their child unlimited screen time and now their child is addicted. Anecdotes that exhibit this kind of asymmetry are effectively worthless.

The $10B was the development of the very first XBox and no, MS never made 10B in income on that console, on the contrary MS lost 4 billion dollars on the first Xbox [1]. The total revenue for the entire Xbox division as a whole is currently

You make it seem like 8-10 openings is diverse. 8-10 openings gets very stale and repetitive for a game that only lasts about 6-8 minutes with only 1-2 minutes of actual engagement (and 4-6 minutes of setup).
