Then it wouldn’t be an axiom, which it, in fact, is, being logically independent from the rest. It is considered somewhat special though, and mathematicians, being nice people, usually indicate whether they rely on it in a proof.

Well there’s a little bit more to it. There is a type involved, and then there’s pointer arithmetic.

What is so difficult about the concept of a memory address? Is it the C syntax? Asking because I personally have never struggled with this.

Good point, actually. Many cases of undefined behavior are clearly visible to an experienced C programmer when they review someone else’s code.

Well, semantically, "size_t" makes sense to me ("the type of a size variable"), while "uint_t" does not ("the type of a uint variable"), because "uint" is already a type, obviously - just li

You can easily have a stack without the special machine instructions (like push and pop) or the special stack pointer register. In fact, such special register is only useful in the absence of (a sufficient number of) general-purpose registe

But the question, then, is: is there reality behind the model (or, rather, how close to reality the model is)? The answer lies in how accurate the model is. This is all we can know in this regard.

The article itself isn’t much better: If space is made of entanglement, then the puzzle of quantum gravity seems much easier to solve: instead of trying to account for the warping of space in a quantum way, space itself emerges out of a fu

How frequent are crashes though? I would think, more often the user could just accidentally pull the power plug without a proper shutdown.

It seems you are taking the notion of "the cell not being a machine" a little too far. Molecular biology has not shown the need for the hypothesis of a "higher level life-force" to explain what is going on inside a cell.

We have, in some cases. In some nature preserves in the US hunting is only allowed with a bow and arrows. (And you still need a license, of course.)

Even C++ does not need ‘class,’ as it already has ‘struct’ that it inherited from C. (A saner language would just use the word ‘type.’)
