The discussion we were having is the extent to which the Feist test that is mentioned in the PDF applies. Especially considering pages 24-27 in the PDF. It makes it seem that AI coding assistants are totally fine and the whole work is co

The article says it sank in both 1892 and 1940. The 1892 date is correct. It’s pretty amazing that shipwrecks are preserved so well in very cold fresh water.

I have well water and the pump is 1.5 HP on 230 volts. In a power outage situation I doubt it would run for more than a minute at a time, maybe 4 or 5 times a day.

I once was in charge of a legacy C codebase that passed around data files, including to customers all around the world. The “file format” was nothing more than a memory dump of the C data structures. Oh, and the customers were running thi

You don’t have to go too far out of the city - more than 10% of the county land area is forest preserve. Inside the city, the far northwest side (along the river) and the far south side (big marsh/beaubien woods) are probably the best

You can see it straight from the horse's mouth, too. On pages 13 and 14 [1], they estimate that between 9 and 23% of the total lifetime emissions for a Mac mini come from using it. The rest is manufacturing and distribution. According

Right. So anyway, if various states (or the whole country) breaks apart based on urban/rural divides, the urban areas have very little incentive to try to reunite. It’s a losing proposition for the rural areas. My personal opinion is

A lot of rural area across the country have movements to break states into pieces, or join other states. I don’t think most are very serious but at least two of them are serious enough. One, there are a few counties on Oregon that want to
