Sorry to hijack this, I thought it can do the following when I see this thread but apparently not: is there a good option to generate calendar from, say, iCal? I want to be able to generate a PDF from calendar events and I fail to find a go

(If you want a Mac,) Apple silicon has the advantage of the unify memory, and with llama.cpp, they can run those models locally and quickly. I’d say start with the largest model you want to run, run it through llama.cpp which will tell you

I’d say just try it for a month and see. Only you can tell if it is worth for you. In this case being able to subscribe for a month only (compare to others which might have a much more expensive per month fee if not paid annually) is an adv

I actually failed to understand this argument. Historically no body has a problem with this and it is always considered to be the employee’s responsibility (to commute to work.) Or is this not true? If we think less about the asymmetry betw

Right, those 0.7.x releases scared the hell out of me. It is like every other critical releases are problematic. Those are the darkest hours of ZoL.

I don’t know why when I read through your list and see “Unix filesystem commands”, I find it oddly out off place and feels like this should not have been in the list, as if it is harmful like screen time.

Ok, fair enough. But shouldn't a direct comment be addressing to the paper instead? I might be wrong and am certainly not well versed in HN. I am not disappointed in your comment per se, I'm disappointed that is the top comment. M

For Monte Carlo and if you need for speed, consider Quasi Monte Carlo. For the right kind of problems the speed up in convergence is huge (ie given same accuracy it will be faster.)

Reading your comment, my first reaction is “are there really people or there who upgrade not because they want their computer faster?” Joke aside, for people who read reviews, I don’t think they read it because their computer is dying. So I

Be careful when looking at memory pressure and how much it is using. For the same kinds of things I do, it scales well between 128GB of ram to 32 and even 16 GB of ram. If you are using a 32 GB machine and seeing it has high memory pressure

You are not wrong. Eg the original Maxwell equation is so ugly (I think 20 of them) but the ones that are taught nowadays looks so elegant. The language is important. The more you “understand” something, the simpler it is (over simplificati

The fallacy in your argument is to think RSI means something wrong is done. It is like a game, where you think it would be like go or chess that skills is strongly correlated with outcomes. But I’d think that is more like monopoly, where gr
