shrug I acknowledge your comment, and I'm aware of the guidelines. I'm not the only one who questioned their response, so I don't feel particularly off balance here.

Alright, here’s a take I haven’t seen in this thread yet: how could this be used for fingerprinting, beyond an existence check for the API itself?

They’re implying that you could trick the model into providing an up to date way to block ads on the page since it’s local and could just inspect the page. The joke comes across fine even with the wrong AI call, lol

There’s a wide, wide range of devs that fit in the label of “JS dev”. At the more junior or casual end, npm and cdns are shoved in your face as the way to go. It shouldn’t be surprising that it’s the natural state of things. I’ve worked wit

They are not ignorant just for holding a different opinion. My entire reading system is built on RSS but I don’t think it’s an invalid take to say that RSS is a thing of the past, or at the very least that the train has left the station. Ev

One thing that bugs me to this day is reading Swift code without an IDE can be an exercise in “let me build up a mountain of context first”, due to the way enums and types can get shortened. It’s nice to write but a pain to review. Meanwhil

I mean, no, “no JS” is pretty religious. What we need is a distinction of “low JS”, which is really what we had before we somehow grew an industry of JS framework mania. JS with fallbacks is a very useful and pleasant thing, JS powering the

One of the most wildly successful chatting platforms of the modern era is not objectively “abysmal” just because it does things differently than your 30 or so years of understanding. People on this site really confuse this issue: your disli

I don't think it's that bad, but skimming that repo leaves me feeling like the frontend stack used makes things far more complex than they need to be. Still, seems like a great project. I added it to my list of things to check
