The general conclusions on that thread are seemingly agreed upon by most of the Rust community, insofar as I've seen. YMMV, but I don't think they're premature. That said, there's no real reason it can't be improved

The vast majority of the reactions from Rust devs to that article - from core language people to random devs like myself - is general agreement. It's understandable why the overzealous-Rust-dev stereotype exists, but I would feel comfo

I mean, your comment is actually contributing to the problem. You can 100% criticize the community - and thus push them to clean up that shit - without straying into characterizing it like that. It's fanning the flames and just doesn&#

> documentation is nonexistent You know, I think this point is important to get right: there are generally docs, Rust does a very good job of making it easy to write docs. What doesn't always exist are guides that explain ho

I've been writing Rust professionally (and predominantly) for ~5+ years now, with brief detours in game dev. I'll defer to others who are dedicated game devs, but overall I think this article is well written and a healthy thing

Rust has had tier 3 support for the Switch since 1.64, I believe. Someone had actually done it even before that but IIRC NDAs mucked up any movement on making that public.

A cynical take is that VCs still focus on the USA because the environment is far more lax and/or easy to take advantage of. That’s not an easy scenario for other countries that care to counter.

Probably the most impressive browser-based game I've played in my 20+ years of being on the web. Hats off to the creators, very nicely done. Parts of it gave me Metroid Prime vibes that I haven't felt since I was a kid.

The way I describe Reddit to people is that you have zero clue if you’re arguing with a 13 year old who discovered $x concept this week. (Or a bot) If you move through the site with that understanding - and personally, using the old interfa

You mean the loans all taken out by young adults, many of whom are never actually taught anything financial prior to that loan stage? This is a predatory system. You can pat yourself on the back for digging out of it, but you should want b

As more web development (in JavaScript) moves away from anything resembling inheritance, the cascade in CSS starts to feel annoyingly out of place. It’s perhaps subtle but a noteworthy distinction in my mind. I struggled with letting go of

There are far more startups/products using that tagline of "used by developers all over the world"/"used by $x company" than our industry seems to want to admit.
