There already exists quite a bit today. I've seen multiple locations where there's 4-8 dispenser heads (chargers) located in the corner of an already normal highway-sized (i.e., ~8 pump) gas station with a medium sized convenience

Again, depends on your source content. Obviously 4k/HDR is H265. Plenty of shows are still 1080p source though even today. Not the 'flagship' shiny ones, but there's a lot more 1080p max source content. And for those, th

Plenty of stations handle this already. Power distribution in industrial areas is already quite high. Also, the cables and connectors are a lot smaller than you think… most 250kW+ stations use liquid cooled cables so they’re relatively flex

I don’t understand the hysterics about “it makes old phones obsolete”. Plenty of features are only available on newer phones. This comes to every single iPad Pro and MacBook since 2021, and last years pro phones. If this was only coming to

Yeah, and most people consider stuff off yts to be of poor quality. Encodes are bad and do not meet standards.

Not really. Only 4k content and anime seems to use HEVC/h265. Anything lower resolution has stuck to h264 for the time being.

One of the main reasons: the margins on the high tech stuff is much better than all the low tech stuff, and amortizing the software of the high tech stuff across their entire line is much easier than just on the high end stuff alone.

Is linoleum any better? Also, tile has a substantially worse under-foot feel for certain areas than a hardwood or hardwood-like substance. Too hard and too cold.

Not sure what poor quality LVP you’re talking about, but good quality LVP doesn’t have any issues with shrinkage. Plenty of stuff with Greenguard Gold certifications which should mean very minimal off-gassing.

Moissanite is sub $100/carat if you have the right vendor. Not expensive at all.

Shinier than diamonds, for one. Much cheaper than even lab grown diamonds, for two. Almost as hard, and generally even fewer deficits than diamonds (except lab ones which are basically deficit free, just like moissinite).

Maintaining a wooden cutting board isn’t that hard. Wipe it off with soapy water after use (the same as your countertops I hope) and then occasionally (monthly, or less often) add mineral oil to the board whenever the board looks “dry”. It

I don’t mean the actual interest rate is negative. I mean that if you intend to pull $50k/yr from it inflation adjusted, you won’t be able to keep up with a 5% return. You would need 8% returns per year to keep up with a $50k/yr d

5% treasuries mean you lose money to inflation. It’s $50k/yr today but in many years it isn’t worth that. Broad market stocks are much more reliable if you want income forever.

Very normal. You have to consider how long you need to 'replenish' the the range you used from your daily driving. Assuming you plug in when you get home, you likely have ~10 hours of charging time. Standard wall outlet is 12A con

PHEV's have all the downsides of maintaining a gas vehicle, as well as much of the associated cost (and upcharge) of a BEV at this point. It's not as much maintainence as a dedicated gas vehicle, but it's still there. Realist

How exactly is PLA harmful? It’s considered to be nontoxic and safe, as long as you aren’t mixing it with colorants (which, linings aren’t).

I agree mortgages cannot be called in, unlike margin trading on stocks, but if you’re wildly upside down on a house then it literally traps you in the house unless you take those losses. If housing prices fall 50% it is also likely that eco

In today's 7% interest rates, yeah it's potentially a wash. In the era of 3-4% rates, it's free money. 'much much more' is absolutely correct at 3-4%, which a lot of people currently have mortgages at today.

You don't make 375k in profit off a 25k investment (in your example) if you sell a house for 400k. You would make 125k in profit using your numbers (minus fees, interest, etc). It's exactly how leverage works, and the equivalent i

Polestars aren’t particularly more expensive than Teslas, but they also aren’t nicer either, honestly. Audi and Porsche are both nicer interiors, but they aren’t better in terms of range or tech necessarily.

What do you think leverage means? If I take a leveraged position on a stock via margin trading and the stock goes to $0 (or, more realistically, it dips in value enough that I get a margin call) then I owe the whole balance, not just what I
