I'm not sure how you got that impression from my comment. But for the sake of argument, I'm saying "complect" is neither simple *nor* easy. It's obviously not easy since it's unfamiliar. But nor is it simple, o

After two years at Cognitect (pre-nubank), I can say that his talks are more subdued than his usual way of speaking (in slack, at least). He's not as mild-mannered as he appears.

And yet, the word Hickey coined, "complect", is silly at best, and a gatekeeping obstacle to outsiders/newcomers at worst.

Torvalds is not a UX person. If the creator is indifferent, you get a slew of commands and flags that map to the data structures and idiosyncrasies of the creator, rather than anything presenting a cohesive API to the outside world.

I agree with you, but fwiw, the conspiracy is that the Saudis want to avoid a repeat of the Arab Spring that was heavily fueled by Twitter, so in that sense, $20 bil would be the price tag to destroy Twitter, not an investment that needs to

Thank you! I was wracking my brain, trying to remember the name of the place. Remote Lounge could have been cooler, but it played up more of the voyeur angle instead of the communication angle, I felt. (Or maybe that was just me, I dunno.)

As someone who argues routinely with long-winded racists on Reddit, it's no haven. Nor are the crackpots spewing 1/6 rants and COVID conspiracies on Facebook. I think social media itself is the problem, not the post length.

A gentle reminder: Musk doesn't build any of that, he's just a source of cash, like a bank crossed with a toddler. Thousands of employees build it. In the case of SpaceX and Tesla, they frequently build it in spite of Musk, dedi

In that case, HTTP/3 might actually perform worse for you than HTTP/2, unless v8 caches QUIC conns as well. The major advantage you'd get with HTTP/3 and QUIC is fewer round trips to start a conn, and no head-of-line blo

As toomim also replied, HTTP/2 is fine, and honestly, is probably preferable for your use case, since you won't also have to deal with QUIC/UDP, and can keep using TCP. (HTTP/3 is ~90% the same as HTTP/2, just over

Clojure innovation seems to have largely slowed down, at least from the language maintainers. The last few years have seen lots of little bug fixes, expanding the CLI tool, and better interop with later versions of Java, but nothing major.
