Exactly. Same way how people can subscribe to a company's Twitter account. Except that the company owns the content, server, and can define their own rules.

I politely disagree: you just pick an "entry node", similar to picking an ISP or an email provider. You can interact with everyone in the Fediverse just fine. Having a newsfeed for your chosen "entry node" is an addition

My understanding is that OP is running their own Fediverse server under fedi.aeracode.org. The challenge was that the server was not running at the root of the web server hence the need for the redirect code and the resulting blog post. But
