I agree. There is a lot of fear mongering coming out of Microsoft now, like their "we can't promise security upgrades" for people who ISO install on unsupported hardware.

I'm interested as well since they had a layoff of the Servo team. Did they rebuild that team with unannounced hires? Outside contributions?

Agreed, I love this. Just use a different hot-key to open a new tab that is in its own container.

Zorin is only paid for the Pro version which offers a few more layouts out of the box and different pre-installed apps, and support from them. The standard core version (standard and lite as you mentioned) is completely free.

It is built on Gnome (3.38). The Zorin taskbar looks based on the Dash To Panel extension. Zorin ships with Gnome or XFCE for the light edition. There is no KDE spin.

Like the previous version, they picked a generation old Ryzen chip and then they package it with slower and less ram and disk space than the Intel SKUs. Zen2 in this is still pretty good, but Zen3 came out 6 months ago at this point.

From what I gather its a chicken and egg issue. Wayland would get more attention and development if it had more users. It would have more users if it had more feature development. Although a lot of the bigger gaps are closed or closing now.

I've been using an extension called Temporary Containers. Every site gets its unique instance and then it is destroyed afterwards.

This. I wonder how much work it would take to get the Pantheon desktop running on FreeBSD if they wanted that as the base.

AMD also sells the console chips at a very low profit margin. They benefit a bit from their name being on so many products as well as hoping that games are optimized for AMD hardware which will benefit their PC business side as well. Well,

Spin up time of WebAPI is shown here, but returning hard coded values isn't much more than a proof of concept. Once you connect to data, you have to look at spin up time of something like EF and context/model generation over and o

I agree with PDF viewer being added. When browsers started adding full game rendering with 3d graphics libraries it crossed the line for me. They're using it as a delivery platform for anything and everything.

"Windows 8 on “mobile devices” is a jail: it censors the user's choice of application programs." I laughed. I don't think its their choice that the app store is horrific.

This sounds very biased and uninformed. It really doesn't belong here. A simple look at the kernel level stability and perf gained from Vista => 7 => 8 => 8.1 show that it clearly isn't true.

And 3d games < 2003 were rubbish graphically compared to today. There was minimal AA and AF. There were almost no particle effects, shaders were just being thought about. Physics in games were a joke until HalfLife2.
