I personally don't think it means less, it just leads to different conclusions. While I still see class as the predominant factor, I still believe everyone would benefit from seeing "different" people in more spaces, regardle

As a minority, I agree with OP. I've been playing video games for my entire life and the only Hispanic main character I can think of is that guy from Shadows of the Damned, which had potential to be great since it was made by my two fa

Sorry, but you're just not looking for it. I'm personally a part of many social circles that talk about discrimination and diversity from Marxist lenses and it seems to be exactly what you're talking about. The people tweetin

You can with Funkwhale! It's what I did a couple years back and the experience was alright at best. I assume it's changed a lot since then.

This is entirely off topic, but the way you phrased your comment makes me think you have experience learning music theory. If so, could you share some resources that you found helpful? I've always wanted to learn music theory (and put

The problem is you're dismissing a valid suggestion based on an assumption you came up with yourself. I understand your point but I feel like it was misplaced here.

This was an interesting read because it's exactly what I talked about in my session yesterday, but would never be able to explain with my own words. Thank you for sharing, and I'll bookmark your comment as a resource to guide peop

What about their response makes you think it was a non answer? I specifically opened this thread to share the exact same experience, as therapy has helped my professional life much more than any book or tool I ever bought.

As someone who entered the functional world through Elm, trying to learn Haskell made me appreciate all the things it doesn't have. Operators are a particular offender, because every time I look up how to do something I have to memoriz

So by extension browsers allowing file downloads also falls under that? That's just what BitTorrent is after all.

I have no memories of that happening. They'll probably tell your not to use the word "guys" in that context though, which is fair imo.

The maintainers have no power over federated instances. The code of conduct is pertaining to the repository and official Funkwhale communities (such as the Matrix chat and discussion boards).

Me too! I used to frequent their Matrix room a year or so ago and it was a very nice place. Very refreshing to find a tech community that made me feel like I could say what I wanted without being interjected by STEM and debate lords. Unfort

I do not. What do you mean by native notifications? Steam has always had their own notifications, and those work for me as far as I can tell.

Unless Steam somehow operates directly with hardware, I don't see how that could happen. They ship their own runtime, with pinned versions of libraries Steam depends on. As far as I know it should work just fine on any Linux system (wh
