Nice one, you compare second hand prices to brand new prices. Anandtech's goal is to guide you in the chip market buying it brand new, not hunting it on ebay. Also, what they say with the 1950x being the best compromise between number

Basically, IPC in an Intel core is a bit better than in an AMD core. Keeping this in mind, you can compare core counts, frequency, power draw, PCIe lines or whatever floats your boat. To compensate for a lower IPC, AMD will give you more co

Some pad solve this problem by having multiple coils inside of them. I don't think it solves the heat problem though.

Heat is known to degrade battery life/capacity. That's why middle range product (like those with a SD625) are better for battery life not only because they sip power, but because they don't heat up as much and you'll get

The author assumes this fact: "Assuming you are in fact getting a better product for that extra money". However it's not necessarily true. Question really is: is it a better product, making it worth to spend more on it? Spend

My problem with wireless charging is that it gets my Nexus 4 crazy hot because of the induction. But that may be my cheapo charger, I dont know.

I don't get why this leak is a big deal, was there something new in the leak beside the design of the iPhone X and the "Face Unlock" sensors? These facts were known for at least a month. Maybe the fact that there will be an L

Purely speculation, but that could be because fatty acid is easier to store, so you need to use it later, and because glucose would be kept in reserve of high intensity effort (like running away from a predator) in case you really need it.

My Bose headphones can be connected to two devices simultaneously, and paired to more devices (I don't know the limitation for pairing). Same for my 40$ bluetooth speaker.

I thought 130 litres/person was quiet high and probably included things like water to grow vegetables, but no, one shower is between 30 et 50 litres and each time you go to the bathroom, it's 10 litres of drinkable water. Of cours

At the end of the video, the inception sound made me think of the first few seconds of Horsepower, by Justice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQqnL38d0GY But the song came out in 2011, so they probably were inspired by the

I have a Surface Pro 3 and I confirm what wlesieutre said. Scrolling with the touchpad on the Typecover is completely smooth in Firefox, but for some reason, this isn't smooth when using the touchscreen. I don't know why.

I think that Anime release groups are also a lot less "regulated" than US TV rip scene. For animes, you can just ask your friends to help you translate an uncovered anime in your country, you get the "raw" from japan and

I agree for TV, but what about the case of the author, where he gets the episode from iTunes? Blu-Ray and iTunes episodes have a chance to have the intro timed perfectly the same as they are probably exported from a kind-of video editing wo

Sorry, I didn't see the GPS. So if there are apps compatible with this, then it can distinguish itself from other smart-watches. Would be nice to go running without a smartphone and still tracking the speed.

Then we'll see in a few years :) It seems like phone specs are being more and more stable anyway, the 3 last iPhones all have 1GB of RAM, the iPhone 6 only has a 17% CPU boost over the 5S whereas the 5S had a 92% advantage over the 5!

But before that, does having a PCI-E tunnel mean that you have to turn off the USB protocol? Or can you use both at the same time? How many pins are necessary to transmit a basic (no power, just data) PCI-E 1x? And 4x, which would be the mi

I hope so. Just by switching to a Cortex A7 or A53 @ 22nm instead of Cortex A8 @ 45nm, this should add 78% more battery life (according to the benchmark of Ars Technica). And by having a round battery instead of a square one, 57% more capac

On the other hand this means that a second iteration of the Moto 360 will easily have a better battery life just by having a Cortex A7 CPU or even better, a Cortex A53, 50% more efficient than A7 and due next year. Something like a Snapdrag
