It's a useless number. People don't tend to remember useless numbers they can recalculate with no effort. Same with the number of doors or plants.

Yes, Metroid III (SNES) was the last game in the series that let you go off track. I've played through it many times and never took the exact same route. Everytime it's a new experience. It's unfortunate that the games that c

Zero Mission ruined things that made Metroid excellent. It's just not obvious on the first playthrough. Unlike previous Metroid games, you can't really do Zero Mission out of order. There's a path you have to follow and if yo

I wouldn't classify putting LSD in the water supply to be "mundane". Neither would I classify MK-Ulta that way: "Techniques included the covert administration of high doses of psychoactive drugs (especially LSD) and othe

It's always about benefits. Incompetence doesn't cost government benefits, so nobody cares. However, if there are benefits to be had by organizing a conspiracy against whomever, you can bet your money that this will be done. Nobod

Maybe game literacy is a thing. After all, can't enjoy a book if you don't know how to read. But if you don't know how to read, that's hardly the fault of the book.

When was the last Metroid game that is "just as fun and joyful as the previous ones"? Metroid has had a tough 20 years or so. Last I checked Nintendo released a poorer version of a remake some fan released a year earlier.

Didn't Nintendo drop this philosophy the moment Gunpei left to work on a GameBoy competitor for Bandai and pushed out the GBC? Or was it after Gunpei died in a car accident shortly after? The NGC also didn't follow this philosophy

I never read manuals for games before playing them. A controller only has so many buttons and pressing them all usually reveals enough to get going. Some level of perseverance is needed for this, however. There were times when I got stuck i

I think the best games are the ones not outright telling you how stuff works. Figuring this out is part of the experience and then, when you learn a new mechanic you can go play the game again and feel how powerful that knowledge really is.

Why would it be reasonable? If you're not willing to perform a job at the current pay grade, just quit your job. Either you get replaced immediately or you've got yourself a chip in your salary negotiation.
