People need sunlight, though. Going extended periods of time without sunlight will lead to feeling tired all the time, from where it's easy to fall into depression. Would be really bad if that's the direction cities are going..

Nation leaders don't have as much power as you seem to think. It's all a problem with incentives and starts with every individual. You could stop buying anything that contains plastic, you could stop using your car, never travel w

I have a workflow where I spawn and close terminals depending on whether I want something done. If my terminal startup wasn't instantaneous, I'd be switching to one that was. (Currently using urxvt). The only reason I keep my brow

Qutebrowser is really amazing and I'm using it for lots of my browsing, too. What keeps me from going all in is the lack of something that can match ublock+umatrix. Sadly, the Internet has become a harsh place, where these things are n

How would you use space to create wealth?

The US doesn't have a perception problem with poverty. It has the image of a rich country where lots of stuff comes from. Like Google, Microsoft etc. India is perceived as a third world country, where people shit in the streets because

Probably because your desktop apps are bloated, too. Any software that needs longer than zero point two seconds reacting to user action (this includes starting the program) should be improved upon.

It's an effort in spending wealth, instead of creating wealth. Since the country has a problem with poverty, effort should be directed towards creating wealth. It's mostly an issue with perception.

Who is granting people the right to have a dignified life? If there's nobody, they do not, in fact, have that right. Since rights are things that are either given or taken. They do not abstractly "exist".

At the end of the day what is needed is to create wealth, not to spend it. Spending wealth while lots of people in the country are living in poverty in a way, that doesn't directly address this problem may come off as having the wrong

The only way is to create wealth, which science and technology are pretty good tools for. A space program, however, isn't something that creates wealth. It's something really cool to do with wealth. Hence the suggestion to first c

It's a myth that you learn languages easier earlier in life. Mastering a language takes about 10 years, it's just that when you start at age 6, you could be done by age 16.

Public schooling is a waste of time and not where people learn foreign languages. I learned my second and third language purely through the Internet. One of them I also had in school, but like I said it was a waste of time. The method is ju

Opera Unity (or was it called Unite?) really taught me to never ever use proprietary software, since it all can go poof overnight without any chance of getting it back. I really liked Opera Unity. I had my own little website and stuff.

Can someone explain to me why this is a bad thing? We used to go out of our way to kill insects in past decades, presumably because we'd prefer them dead. Now they are dying off and I'm not sure why I should be unhappy about this.
