Just because they compete on price doesn't mean they will cut quality or usability. That is what I feel is wrong with the existing inexpensive tablets, they cut those corners, but Amazon isn't known for doing that.

To me the worst part was how they managed the incident. They should never have been hacked, but once it happened they should have been honest about the scope of impact.

I also find it relevant that they started with a platform approach for Zune, then changed it to be vertically integrated. Why would they not consider the same for phones if they could buy MOTO and use them to bootstrap verticle integration

I think the MS brand has more clout than RIM; if for no other reason than most large companies will have a relationship with MS for other products. In all of the large companies I've worked at buying from an existing vendor was preferable

Unless you do most of your communicating with family through Facebook, or use Facebook Connect to authenticate with external sites; then you're just as screwed if they ban you.

One suggestion posted, somewhere, was to cross reference the GMail contact list with people who requested an invite. Then send invites to people on both lists earlier in the process. It may not be the best approach but it would help bring
