You could also always compile it from source with the debug symbols even if it wasn't provided by a distro.

Thinly provisioned compute in the presence of other VMs is one reason, but I think this is aimed at people with multiple proxmox nodes in a cluster.

I would much rather have a large amount of in-tree driver source over a small driver with a "large" firmware binary.

It's not open source; it's under a different license unlike the rest of bitwarden which is GPL

I don't really like this boxing analogy (because browsers don't directly interact with each other and browsers aren't a sport, etc), but I'll go with it anyway. When there are only two boxers and nobody apparently cares

I don't think that would suffice. I want all my data to be in one place, hosting one service, while still being able to use frontends for all of the different applications. It's a big ask for sure.

How risky is it to just encrypt disks or filesystems, storing the key in tpms or secure enclaves and then just discarding the key instead of actually deleting the data?

The thing that annoys me is that there is no propper way (at least to my knowledge) to run multiple linked fedi accounts. I have a selfhosted misskey instance, but then should I also run pixelfed? Or should I just use the singular instance?

I have been looking into the overhead if async on c++ and we found that the cost increases substantially when the function has a return value. It would be interesting to see if this is the case with python 's asyncio.

Apple's grip on the messaging space is pretty tight but I have hopes that the EU's DMA regulation will force to loosen it's grip. I've been using iMessage on Android, desktop and the web using Mautrix-iMessage and Beeper

iMessage succeeded because the iPhone maintained market share. BBM failed because people stopped buying Blackberries. I don't think any of iMessage's unique features materialy contributed to it's success.

After watching the whole video, I have to say it's not very well written. The video, without any real thesis, fails to reach any real conclusions; or at very least, it fails to convince me of anything new. I think it's pretty stup
