Almost all discussion on this topic suggests a minimum amount of work to qualify.

Asking what framework to use is like asking what kind of haircut to get. It depends on what you want it to look like.

I think the reaction is distrust that the manufacturers will play nice. If it costs them $20/phone average to warranty them for another 12 months, they may charge $50 more per sale. A similar thing happened in Canada. A few years ago,

I don’t think it’s “pay $0.99 to remove ads” that’s the problem. It’s more about “Share your contacts for 500 gems” or “enable location tracking and we’ll give you access to all these cool filters”. N.B. Snapchat recently stopped doing this

Adversarial attacks rely on a specific model’s gradient (since you’re essentially trying to find the most sensitive pixels). Adversarial noise that affects model A won’t necessarily work on model B. That said, most people transfer train fro

For reference, there are 2.5 types of star trackers (called mounts): - Equatorial: follows star in one direction. Works best on lower stars since the move E-to-W mostly. Cheapest models start at $200 USD (MSM) - Altazimuth (azimuth+altitude

Many years ago I read an article where someone used a regular DSLR and a barn door tracker to detect exoplanets (ie planets that orbit a different star). This is what got me into astrophotography. https://spectrum.ieee.org/g

IIRC it was mostly to reduce overall expenditure on aerodynamics. Before FIA restricted resources, teams would use wind tunnels 24/7, up to 70 days per year. This was crazy expensive so the restrictions were implemented (and they happe

I think that’s because 99% of regular computer tasks don’t need 24 cores operating at 5 billion cycles per second. The differences between an i7-4xxx and i7-11xxx are more about hardware acceleration, eg HEVC and SIMD. That’s why they look

It’s two sides of the same coin. Both consuming substances and soliciting your body are choices that affect your own body. Selling drugs / buying sex are transactions at the expense of someone else’s body.

The process is fairly simple. 1. Take illegal number 2. GZip it, or at least store it in a format that discards trailing null bytes. 3. Multiply it by a power of 256 Every power of 256 adds a zero to the end, in the same way that multiplyin

I’m having trouble telling if this is satire, but I think it’s not. The arguments are fairly weak, notably: 1. Using a static site generator, you have to keep track of the source code and the build (which the author suggests is more “source

A safer way: just download the dump for yourself and Ctrl-F your number. An even safer way : Look at your phone log. If you haven’t received 25 spam calls in the past week, your number probably isn’t in the list.
