Really cool, it'd be nice to have a few more screenshots or maybe a video of the usage. It's not fully clear if Felony actually sends the message or only encrypts it and allows you to send the encrypted message in another medium.

The people who would vet the code before execution are experienced enough to change it from curl | bash to curl > install.sh and then read it before executing. The only thing you can, and should, criticise here is the delivery over HTTP

I use the excellent 1Password, syncing over WiFi with my phone as the source of truth for my vault. 2FA enabled for everything that supports it and backup codes stored physically. Works great and password managers are one of the few times w

I was only correcting the parent regarding the BBC. I don't have enough knowledge about the industry to comment on the surrounding costs, but I imagine that there's a lot of content where it would be worth it.

I've started using a bundled app for messenger.com so haven't looked into blocking them for that. Also use the mobile Messenger app a fair bit. I'd like to switch away from the Facebook platform, but it's seriously diffi

Unit tests can also prevent aggressive refactoring by being heavily coupled to the implementation due to the nature of mocking essentially private details of the code under tests. You then have to aggressively refactor your tests along with

I've been using Freedome[0] for a few months now and I am really liking it. While I don't use it to escape censorship and digital embargos it's adequate for such purposes too. You can pick from exit IPs all over the world and

Fun story about NoScript. I used to use AMP[0]. But I reverted that for two reasons. 1. The size of their js is ~170kb roughly 17 times larger than most of my pages. 2. It loads from a 3d party domain which means that NoScript/uBlock O

Quite happy with my own web page/blog. Pages hover at around 10kb, 30kb if I include some images. I think the page size can be attributed a lot to there being no JS except for GA. I have taken a lot of inspiration from http:/

I'm inclined to agree that it's an improvement over the status quo for people that didn't use passcodes from before. I do trust Apple more than many other entities and as you say they don't have a database with fingerpri

It's not really about hacking Touch ID. Apple has published a really thorough whitepaper[0] on the security of Touch ID and the secure enclave. I don't really think that hacking the Secure Enclave to extract fingerprints is even p

The whole notion of using fingerprints for authentication is weird. Essentially something that's akin to a username is being used as a password. I've wrote about this practice the other day[0]. It's interesting to observe tha

This is interesting for signature based AVs. More interestingly bypassing dynamic AV engines that execute code in a sandbox seems to be fairly trivial as well. For example allocating 100mb or memory, running a few million iterations in a lo

Git commit and push takes a minute or two tops I fail to see how that is less efficient than clicking save in a WYIWYG editor. The setup time between the two options is probably very similar.
