I misspoke a little with regards to NPM. NPM has something called npm-shrinkwrap that allows you to lock resolved dependencies. It's used in many NPM projects and seems to be a standard chosen by the community. I am not sure what ~= me

The lack of separation between requested direct dependencies and a pinned resolved dependencies(including transitive) has been one of the great confusions for me learning Python. Having used Bundler, CocoaPods, Composer, and NPM before, whi

I disagree with the author. Feature branches should not be long lived in the first place. If a feature branch encompasses more than a story of 1-5 story points it's likely that it is too large in the first place. Once you dispel this n

Their business model just happens to align well with what is best for their customers. It's interesting that it's almost an anomaly. The business models of Goole and Facebook in comparison does not really align with what is best f

I've also been writing a ray tracer in Swift. Would love to look at yours if it's Open Source. The core rendering logic for mine is here[0]. I also started building a .obj loader for Swift[1]. Will definitely be buying the book. 0

Interesting, is there any public discussion on this? I didn't find anything like it when I was researching the blog post.

I was under the impression that it worked like an Alpha and the intention is for features in it to eventually end up in stable unless critical problems are found in them?

Hmm I was under the impression that since it's currently in Aurora it's likely to be in the end release? Do you have a source on this?

Jekyll should work on Windows because Ruby works on Windows. The reality of it is that many library developers are very bad at making sure their stuff work on Windows. http://rubyinstaller.org/ might be something to look in

I don't think that it's dead and self publishing I'd argue is easier and cheaper than ever. My blog has all the power of s3 for scaling with free SSL from Cloudflare and I pay peanuts for it. Current bill is $0.03 some months

I am wondering how blocking VPN services/proxies will work in IPv6. Seems to me like the sheer amount of IPv6 addresses would make blocking by address completely impossible

AFAIK the combination of NSSelectorFromString and NSClassFromString would allow you to build and make calls from obfuscated strings during runtime. Since Objective-C uses message passing this is non trivial to catch. Compared to C were you
