And MS items get flagged off often because microsoft cannot buy peoples hearts with a billion dollars in advertising after decades of an ugly monopoly. Works both ways.

Hmm... pointing out the heavy amount of MS stories on front page... pointing out MS dominate the OS space.... obviously this must be down voted at all costs.

Urm, Microsoft should not be mocking people for suffering their late and fragmented attempts at web browsing. They should be thankful the dev community is giving IE10 a go and actually being encouraging to some extent.

Stop acting like you need special treatment because you're some kind of starved minority. Windows has ABSOLUTELY dominated the world (in numbers, at least) for over two decades and is still #1. What's your problem? Not enough attention? Not

And portrait mode that has a bad aspect ratio. It's a fundamental mistake for a tablet. People thought the RT was slightly heavy to hold as a tablet. Will be interested to see their opinions of this.

Such a '90s cliché. Cheaper does not always mean better value, and it is often at the expense of build/longevity. Apple does overcharge on memory/disk upgrades (as does MS, just look at the ahem 32gb Surface with 16gb of free space). But

This guy knows how to seed his interviews with one liners that will rate in the press. "Even hardware from Apple is a subscription, in a couple of years it isn't going to work with the newer stuff". Well... duh, but goodluck finding a compa

Balmer never believed in simplified apps from the beginning. Metro feels like compromise to keep people tied to the desktop.

I like this idea. If you can confirm the price tally in the final step of checkout it would work well. So server side integration still required.

Is there actual research on this? I can't see this massive Android flood being based largely on OS loyalty.

I wonder how portion of Android users care about their platform. Given the cheapness of some of these phones, would not surprise me if many users had low interest in their devices beyond the phone and basic web/app use.

Hearing mixed messages about this. Does IE10 allow itself to software update? If we could just have a proper implementation of that, it might mean avoiding a rerun of IE6 lingering for several years?

This is true. But there is a strong case for increasing font size on a mini, and letting the content breath more. So dropping a RHS column would help that. This is if you believe in non-zoomable design. If you allow the user to zoom, one o

Hmm I'd argue detecting iPad 2 in landscape mode would be an opportunity for an extra RHS column While on Mini, you'd just drop that Shame we can not have that possibility, as the extra 19% of screen makes an extra column readable.

So I guess in that case, given even large software companies release products with dangerous exploits in them, password managers are a bad idea... why give a hacker a single point to access every one of your passwords?

How would Rails be bumped to Ruby 2? Does Rails 4.0 depend on it? Or will it be a 4.x thing? Just trying to get my head around this, since some of these changes seem quite integral?
