Everything comes back to Balmer's disdain for the iPad as being an overpriced netbook device that nobody will ever use. MS is furiously trying to merge tablets into fully fledged PCs. I can almost guarantee that by Windows 9 they will have

This is indeed a very serious problem for Microsoft. Because they are positioning this device as a laptop and a tablet. To not want comparisons with the iPad completely misunderstands what people are expecting from a tablet. Microsoft was v

There is a hack/virus where your account gets hijacked and messages are sent to your contacts with wording like "I found this pic of you" or "and embarrassing photo of you!"... and anyone who clicks is themselves hacked. Thing is... this sp

Google dominate this area, obviously. It's great we are happy to have working maps, but let's just hope other companies can break the monopoly on our location data at some point.

True, not every Android phone is positioning itself as a powerhouse smart device. As such, buying a cheap Android device today may not tell us much about OS loyalty? May be a mute point. Windows saturated the world for decades and people ju

Yet so many Android phones are walled gardens in relation to manufacturer spamware and crippled upgrade paths. Profiting from apps is hard for the majority of devs, and generally acknowledged to be more so on Android.

Optus and Telstra both allow you to choose your payback plan and rate? So yearly is always possible, even if not seen on the posters.

Android is the new Feature Phone in some ways (as well as high end models too). Google always intended saturation to prop up their Ad model. Interesting to hear stirrings of Apple iterating faster. Apple already pwn the market profit-wise.

Except not every OS makes it easy to install third party hacks. Or as beneficial. Jailbreaking iOS is quite a step for the majority of users, and means relinquishing the benefits and ease of the Store. Arguably, if this article is any indic

True almost every security layer is crackable. The idea is to make buying an app more convenient than the effort and time involved in cracking. Not sure Windows8 apps are there yet, reading this. Will undoubtably be addressed in future upda

Thanks for that Brett I'd still prefer a service like Filepicker over running my own service. However would of been good to see a blog or twitter update on these issues.... I might of missed something, but so far not able to see anything of

Well who really knows how two IT giants communicate. There is little to stop MS from expecting the DropBox model to be accepted - it depends what else they are asking. We simply don't know the details of all this, beyond the MS focused blog

This is a good point. Also wondering what's stopping MS from doing down the DropBox path and not allowing purchases on iOS.

I really hope Twitter can capture the popular appeal with this. Because at the moment, the person on the street only knows Facebook and Instagram as their social networking. Which isn't very social, when you think about it.

What I want to know is... Why LESS and not SASS? Seems to me, TBS is the only thing keeping LESS alive. SASS/Compass seems to be the better choice? http://css-tricks.com/sass-vs-less/ (Logic and Loops are big ticket items).

But does this mean Javascript is talking to your server rather than S3? Because the beauty of filepicker is that a user is not locking up one of your processes while they spend minutes uploading a file. Especially important on Heroku, for e

If you want an upgradable computer, then all-in-one designs were never going to be the economical path. Predicting this guy just needs to wait to see the next Mac Pro. I'm still delighted with Apple. Both iOS and OSX are prime for some reth

Steve disliked Flash because it crashed small mobile devices and chewed system resources. A few years later Adobe AGREED with this by discontinuing Flash on Android.

Given the massive, dominant install base of Windows, you'd of hoped for a better result after the first tablet friendly version was released. Particularly the slashed OS price, and bundling of the previous cash cow, Office, in RT. Agree it

Didn't they give up on porting it to mobile? This runs choppy on my old iPhone, but it doesn't make the page lag. Flash often kills my browser and brings my entire system to a halt. Sorry, but it's still buggy as all hell.
